EXPED ambassador, Graham Zimmerman, and his partner Ian Welsted, have established basecamp for their attempt on the west ridge of K2. But before setting foot on K2, they have been acclimatizing on nearby Broad Peak; climbing up to sleep, do the uphill athlete thing and hang out as high as 7,000 meters.
For this trip, EXPED built a high altitude tent to Graham's specifications. Called the Infinity, it's a single-wall, ultralight climbing tent designed to weather the worst storms while fitting onto small ledges and platforms. Just the right thing for the west ridge.
The pair are now back in basecamp sitting out some weather, but from their posts it sounds like all is progressing well. More updates as we receive them!
